  • 1 ½ c all-purpose flour.
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder.
  • ½ tsp salt.
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg.
  • ½ c white sugar.
  • ⅓ c shortening.
  • 1 Egg.
  • ½ c milk.
  • ½ c white sugar.
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon.
  • 6 tbsp margarine, melted.


  1. Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
  2. Apply baking spray in 12 muffin cups.
  3. Add the flour, baking powder, nutmeg, flour, and salt to a large mixing bowl. Whisk until well mixed.
  4. In another mixing bowl, add the shortening and ½ cup of sugar. Stir until well blended.
  5. Add the egg and beat until well combined.
  6. Transfer the flour mixture into the shortening mixture and stir until well mixed.
  7. Add the milk gradually and stir every addition.
  8. Fill each prepared muffin cup with the batter.
  9. Place them inside the preheated oven and bake for about 20 minutes.
  10. Meanwhile, in a small mixing bowl, add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and ½ cup of sugar. Whisk until well mixed.
  11. Remove the muffins from the oven and the pans.
  12. Dip each hot muffin into the melted margarine, then into the sugar, and lastly into the cinnamon mixture.
  13. Serve immediately. Enjoy!
